Biography
Jay-R is a DJ and producer from El Salvador, Central America, quickly becoming a recognizable name in the international underground scene.
Drawing inspiration from house, 90s house, minimal, electro funk, and minimal techno, Jay-R’s sound balances electro sounds and vintage elements with forward-thinking energy. He’s part of the new wave of Central American artists crafting a unique identity in the global electronic music landscape.
He has performed across El Salvador at venues such as Funky Club, Musiklub, BRK, and Dunkel, and with leading local promoters like The House Project, Octa Concept, Casza Fantasma, and Friends + Family. His reach has expanded beyond borders, playing in Mexico, Colombia (for Ross Records and Yin Yang Studios), and the United States (Washington D.C. and Virginia). His groove-driven sets have placed him alongside respected artists including Makèz, Lujo Prado, Papi Gavi, Artro, Joseph Córdova, Prisma Deer, Fernando Campollo, Shon Jovi, and Adrian Alessandro.
Jay-R has released music on labels such as Non Stop Rhythm (UK), Impresión (Miami, US), Mexica Records (Texas, US), Thunder Records (US), ¿Dónde Estamos? (US), Discovery Vinyl (Valencia, Spain), and Bliss Records (Belo Horizonte, Brazil). His catalog continues to grow with thoughtful, dancefloor-ready productions.
